The cost between both pedestrian bridges will be $232,000 and all paid for from the City’s capital fund. The bridge is located on Water Street in downtown Binghamton near Boscov’s, and it connects from the Water Street Parking garage and Metro center. In December 2019, work was completed to demolish the pedestrian bridge that connected the State Street Parking Garage and Metro center. Access to the Water Street Parking Garage will remain open at all times. On Wednesday, major demolition work will begin. BINGHAMTON (WBNG)- Binghamton Mayor Rich David announced on Monday that demolition will begin this week on the decommissioned pedestrian bridge. In a press release, it stated that starting Monday, equipment will be mobilized and Water Street, between Court Street and the Water Street parking garage entrance, will be closed to traffic for about three weeks of demolition work.
