Job Description:Basic Function and Responsibility:The Senior Program Manager provides oversight and leadership forOakton’s Center for Organizing Minority Programs to Advance StudentSuccess (COMPASS), a five-year federally funded initiative by theAsian American Native Pacific Islander Servicing Institution(AANAPISI) U.S. Department of Education grant. In partnership withoutcome stakeholders including staff, faculty, and communitypartners, the Senior Program Manager will focus on the AAPIpopulation to drive retention and graduation rates.Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities: Track and maintain COMPASS project data on outcomes asgenerated by continuous assessment activities, developed inconsultation with the Principle Investigators and co-Investigators.Specifically target AAPI student success.Prepare and submit statistical and narrative reports; analyzecurrent information on effective methods of serving the educationalneeds of this population; maintain databases, websites,publications related to the grant; direct and prepare annual recapdata and special reports and recommendations, as requested;coordinate and respond to periodic audits; assist college andDistrict personnel with reports required by federal, state andlocal agencies.Develop a vision and long-term plan for serving Asian studentsand increasing Asian student graduation/transfer after the AANAPISIgrant ends.Serve as the college liaison with federal and state agencies.Develop partnership relationships, provide requested data, andsubmit annual reports.Develop, document, execute, and evaluate strategic plansincluding annually and for post-grant.Prepare and monitor budgets in accordance with the AANAPISIgrant program.Perform other job related duties as assigned. Additional Information:Supervision Received:Administrative supervision is received from the Assistant VicePresident of Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning(Principle Investigator).Supervision Exercised:Functional supervision may be exercised over studentemployees.HOURS: Monday – Friday 8:15 am – 5:00 pmSalary $70,399 – Starting salary may change due to the completionof Staff Negotiations in 2021.This is a temporary grant position, and continued employment isbased on the successful renewal of the grant. Requirements:Qualifications and Working Conditions: Develop, manage, and evaluate all AANAPISI grant programactivities and operations; compile and analyze data related toprogram participation and student success; develop organizationalstructures and work processes to facilitate attainment ofestablished program goals and objectives.Work together with partner stakeholders including, but notlimited to,Collaborate with faculty to create professional developmentopportunities on best practices to work with AANAPISI students andhow to be culturally responsive for this population inparticularCollaborate with STEM faculty/staff/dean to implementprogramming, co-curricular activities, and recruitment strategiesto attract women of color to Computer Science with the objective ofincreasing enrollment in computer science and term-to-termretentionCollaborate with College Transitions to work with high schoolpartners to implement the Persistence Project work in dual creditcourses, including conducting teacher trainings,creating/disseminating/analyzing assessments of both teachers andstudents, and analyzing at course success rates.Collaborate with equity coordinators, TRiO, etc. to share bestpractices.Collaborate with Student Affairs to create and promotemulti-cultural events.Collaborate with the community at large to promote COMPASS andAANAPISI initiatives.
